Psalm 23 – Mother Nancy's Coffee Thoughts

I’m Ok

In the midst of struggles God is with me, guiding me, loving me, comforting me. Anchored by God’s love I am not aimlessly tossed about in the storm. In the pain and sorrow, God holds me safe. I know that God is always on the side of the sufferer.

“Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Present Tense

When was the last time you heard or read the Twenty Third Psalm? I’m going to venture to guess it was at a funeral. It does appear as the optional reading in the lectionary for certain Sundays in years A & B and also every year in the readings for the 4th Sunday of Easter.Continue reading “Present Tense”
