What is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual Direction is an important and often neglected piece of our life as followers of Jesus. As the Director, I will help us both ground our conversations in God’s Word but our journey together is one of discovery not study. Our time together and the accountability in between sessions will be tailored to your needs. We will pray together, sit together, and, yes, sometimes hear scripture together as a means to help us listen for where God is at work in your life and assist you in your awareness of God’s voice.
What is the Enneagram?
The Enneagram is an ancient spiritual wisdom tool first used by the early Dessert Mothers and Fathers that helps us see ourselves honestly and authentically. We are all hardwired to react to input from the world around us in certain ways and our outward and visible responses are a sign of our inner spiritual well being (or not so well being). Using the wisdom of the Enneagram, we seek to understand why we react as we do and learn to shape the way we respond in spiritually and emotionally healthy ways that are congruent with the person God created and calls us to be.
How is Discipleship Formation different from going to church?
I’m so glad you asked! Following Jesus is so much more than just showing up at church on Sunday mornings. It is so much better than that! It is a life grounded in love and peace and compassion that equips us to thrive in the bad times and the good times and all the times in between. Through our discipleship formation sessions, we will look at what Jesus’ sermons, conversations, and parables teach us about living our life today, every day, in the circumstances in which we find ourselves, as beloved children of God and citizens of God’s kingdom.
